Angus Stewart is a commercial and public law silk with a national practice.
He was a barrister in South Africa from 1996 to 2010, including as a silk from 2006, and has lived and practised in Australia since 2011. He was awarded silk in NSW in 2014. Angus’s principal specialisations are in shipping, international trade and international commercial arbitration, but he will accept briefs in all courts and tribunals and has considerable experience in public law – particularly in inquiries.
Angus is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (FACICA). He is a panel member of the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA), the Australian Maritime and Transport Arbitration Commission (AMTAC) and the Maritime Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (MLAANZ). He is recognised as a leader in the shipping and/or transport fields by being listed by Doyle’s Guide, Chambers & Partners AsiaPacific and Who’s Who Legal.
