Charak

Annette appears in all jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court, Magistrates’ Court, Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court. She brings her strong analytical skills and extensive experience of writing, editing and training to her work as a barrister. An excellent communicator, orally and in writing, Annette is able to explain sophisticated ideas in accessible language. She has been briefed to appear and advise on diverse matters, including building and construction, financial services, trusts, trade practices and insolvency.

Immediately before coming to the Bar, Annette ran her own consultancy, training lawyers, particularly in non-English speaking countries, to improve their written communications. She had previously worked at Allen & Overy in Brussels where she founded an English language legal communication team. Annette has also edited a broad range of LexisNexis publications, including online statutory databases and handbooks on insolvency, intellectual property and competition law. She has written for CPDinteractive.com.au and the Australian Intellectual Property Law Bulletin on tax matters.

Annette has a BA and LLB from the University of Melbourne and completed her articles with Arnold Bloch Leibler. She recently completed a Master of Tax (Hons) also at the University of Melbourne.

Annette is accepting briefs in all commercial matters, as well as tax and administrative matters.

Annette lived in Europe for 15 years. She speaks French and Hebrew fluently.
