Nick practises in commercial, maritime and public law.
Before coming to the Bar, Nick worked in the chambers of the Honourable Chief Justice Allsop of the Federal Court. Nick assisted in the management of the Court’s appellate jurisdiction and is experienced in each of the Court’s practice areas including commercial and corporations, admiralty and maritime, and administrative and constitutional law. Nick has particular experience in bankruptcy and insolvency, admiralty, insurance, commercial class actions, directors’ duties, and consumer and regulatory actions.
In addition to his work as a NCF Registrar, Nick was an Admiralty Marshal of the Federal Court and was involved in the arrest of ships.
Nick holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of Western Australia. While completing undergraduate studies at the University of Western Australia Nick began an engineering degree before transferring into arts and law. Nick has a strong understanding of civil engineering principles.
Nick is reading with Rob Craig. His senior mentor is Charles Scerri QC.
